Music Superstar Bruno Mars Invests in NJOY E-Cigs
NJOY is well known as America’s leading e-cigarette company with a huge fan base that includes several celebrities. We’ve seen Courtney Love using and promoting NJOY everywhere she goes and Charlie Sheen loves e-cigs so much that he created his own brand called NicoSheen. Now another celebrity superstar is joining the ranks of e-cigs fans. In a press release on May 30, NJOY announced that Bruno Mars is their newest investor.
Pop star Bruno Mars has always been very open about his cigarette habit. In fact, he was pictured on the cover of the May issue of Rolling Stone with a cigarette perched between his lips. Now the Grammy award-winning singer is ditching his old tobacco cigarettes and using NJOY e-cigarettes. But he’s not just vaping; he’s putting his money on NJOY by becoming an investor in the company.
While the details of the investment have not been shared, Mars spoke to the New York Post about his newest business venture. He said, “I believe in the product and the company’s mission.” At this point, Mars isn’t involved in any contract to promote or publicly endorse NJOY products. However, that isn’t stopping him from talking about his new investment or his fondness for NJOY e-cigarettes. On May 12, he sent out a photo of himself vaping an NJOY on Twitter with the caption: “Day 1 E-Cig. Gotta do it!! This is for you mom.”
According to Craig Weiss, CEO of NJOY, the company did not solicit support from Mars, but instead the pop star approached them about the possibility of investing. Weiss said that Mars is the second celeb investor, but the identity of the first has not yet been revealed to the public.
While e-cig companies are not allowed to make any health claims about their products, Mars has suggested that he believes the e-cig is a smart alternative to dangerous tobacco cigarettes. He said, “I’ve been using NJOY Kings instead of cigarettes these days and I’m sticking to it. I believe in the product and the company’s mission.”
So far, this appears to be a match made in heaven. NJOY CEO Craig Weiss said, “Adding Bruno to our team expands our reach, raising further awareness of the NJOY brand and our company mission to obsolete cigarettes. Many of our investors use our product and recognize the potential NJOY has to challenge the status quo and change people’s lives for the better.”
The future looks bright for Bruno Mars and e-cig giant NJOY. As celebrities continue to use, endorse, and invest in electronic cigarettes, more people learn about the benefits they offer as an alternative to tobacco use.
